In Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, you’ll find everything a cross-country skier's heart desires: From classic and skating tracks to high-altitude and practice trails and even flood-lit night tracks! Here, sports enthusiasts can prove their fitness on 12 kilometres of cross-country ski trails. In Obergurgl, for example, there is a 3 km practice track as well as a 7 km cross-country ski run. Meanwhile, Hochgurgl boasts a high-altitude cross-country ski run with a length of 2 kilometres.
But that’s not all: 185 kilometers of perfectly groomed cross-country trails invite you to enjoy cross-country skiing throughout the entire Ötztal region. The reward after exhausting hours of physical activity awaits you at the Hochfirst’s ‘Alpen Spa.’

Entrance at the car park of the Hochgurglbahn valley station. Flat route at the bottom of the Pill/Angern valley - easy to medium-difficult ascent over the Isse meadows to the districts of Königsrain and Alt-Poschach - Follow along the Ötztaler Ache stream back to the right past the Hotel Jagdhof to the car park.

Entrance just 3 minutes from the hotel. Two flat cross-country ski runs with connecting track along the Ötztaler Ache stream towards the Bobo’s Kids’ Club area - cross the stream – head over the bridge to the Bartebene area.

Starts above the Hochgurgl chapel at the ski slope. Scenic route is mostly flat and leads above the tree line towards the Königstal valley. A section of the cross-country skiing trail is illuminated. There is also a separate winter hiking trail.
Beyond from the groomed ski slopes, the Ötztal Alps offer numerous routes for off-piste skiing and touring. The three thousand metre peaks entice visitors with magnificent views and breathtaking powder snow slopes. It’s a true paradise for every ski tourer. After all, what could be more amazing than printing your tracks in the powder snow while surrounded by the fantastic mountain scenery and bright sunshine?
Experienced ski tourers will enjoy extremely challenging routes while beginners can test out this sport on easier tours. The Wildspitze, Tirol's highest mountain peak at 3,768 metres of altitude, is a special highlight for touring fans. The Obergurgl ski school offers guided tours in the area 1 to 2 times a week in winter. Provided that there are at least 4 participants, the destination will be chosen according to snow conditions and the ability of the participants.
Make way for tobogganists in Hochgurgl! This winding three-kilometre, natural toboggan run leads from the mountain station to the valley station of the Hochgurglbahn cable car. Ascend quickly and comfortably from Pill with the Hochgurglbahn cable car.
The toboggan run is open daily from 09:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Obergurgl’s 12 km of winter hiking trails invite you to enjoy romantic walks. Along the way, enjoy the wonderful views in the refreshing Ötztal mountain air and admire the snow-covered mountain landscape.
One of the highlights of a skiing holiday in Obergurgl is a snowshoe hike through the romantic Ötztal landscape. The Obergurgl ski school therefore offers guided tours into the winter terrain twice a week. Excursions at night are also possible.

Head from Obergurgl to the ‘Zirbenwald’ (Swiss-stone pine forest) past the Davidshütte mountain hut to the Zirbenwald crossroads. Return: Just after the Zirbenwaldbrücke bridge, take the Imfong-Weg path down to the left back to Obergurgl.
Duration: approx. 1 hour
Flat route at the bottom of the Pill/Angern valley - easy to medium-difficulty ascent over the Isse meadows to the districts of Königsrain and Alt-Poschach. Then head back along the Ötztaler Ache stream on the right side.
